Klobuchar headed to Iowa. Too early to chat about 2016?

Few politicians can make the trip to the Hawkeye state without raising eyebrows

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., is slated to address Iowa Democrats at their state convention Saturday.

Is it too early to raise a brow about the appearance of the Senator who tends to think long term in the early voting state?

At least 92 people on Facebook don't think so. They've signed up to become members of a group called "Klobuchar for President."

But Klobuchar demurs.

"I will be back in Minnesota for the Glenville Days, Janeville Hay Daze and the Waterville Bullhead Days so let's make very clear that I am returning to my state and driving back to these great festivals," she said. "This was purely, purely about Tom Harkin inviting me and I said I'd go. Really. As they say on Saturday Night Live: Really."

She said she'll talk about the same innovation agenda she's talk about with other state's groups.

"I just think it's very important that we come together to make America more competitive on the international stage," she said. Klobuchar did say she'll make some Iowa-Minnesota comparisons but, "I will make no mean Iowa jokes."
