KLINE MUM ON BACHMANN REMARKS

Congressman John Kline is declining to join in GOP condemnation of fellow Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann for accusing a State Department official of ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

"He doesn't comment on other people's comments," said campaign spokesman Troy Young.

DFL challenger Mike Obermueller issued a statement on Friday saying that Bachmann's "baseless personal attacks ... are exactly the kind of nonsense that people hate about Washington: too much time spent on political dramatics and not nearly enough time getting things done."

Bachmann's comments about State Department aide Huma Abedin, which she later broadened to include Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., were condemned by Republican House Speaker John Boehner, Sen. John McCain and others.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
