No question will be popped Sunday, on Kris Humphries' 26th birthday, despite local sports world chatter about the seriousness of the NBAer's romance with Kim Kardashian.
It's easy to be serious during those first months, when you're hot and heavy. Seriousness gets tested in the bad times, not the good times.
There's a reason this is sounding faintly wedding vowy. I was telling a source, in a position to know stuff, that I was not buying the idea that this Minnesota kid was headed anywhere near marriage to the L.A. reality show personality and businesswoman. Au contraire, I was told, as this source advised me not to be surprised if Humphries popped the question.
Of course, this source was not ready to speculate on the likelihood of Kardashian accepting. Some Minnesotans are still skeptical about her seriousness. She seems like a girl with as many options as there are pro athletes on a road trip, although while expressing shock at not yet being remarried in a People mag cover story, Kardashian said a husband and kids were her priorities.
But a second source, maybe even in a better position to know, told me no way. Humphries is reportedly having fun with Kardashian but not ready to settle down, even though the NBAer has reportedly met Kris and Bruce Jenner.
And I was told Humphries will never appear on any Kardashian reality show.
Right now, Kardashian and Humphries are enjoying maintaining each other's interests when they are both not busy with their careers... and other options.
Humphries has an eye for beautiful women. Next time People magazine gets him on the horn, ask about his brief fling with Selita Ebanks, the Victoria Secret model who was Nick Cannon's fiancée for 30 or so minutes.
