Willie Dean, whose professional background comes primarily out of the YMCA, has been named the executive director for the eclectic, community radio station. Dean replaces Janis Lane-Ewart who left the operation this past November after serving since 2001. Suzann Eisenberg Murray had been serving as interim director.

Dean was most recently the president/CEO of the YMCA of Arlington, Texas and previously had a stint as executive director for Monsanto YMCA in St. Louis.

"I look forward to working closely with out staff, the board and with our partners and the entire community radio network throughout Minnesota to continue the vital work of the organization," Dean said.

No word yet on any major changes from Dean, but don't be surprised if KFAI starts blocking out an hour every week to celebrate the music of The Village People.
