Kennedy, Cook absent; new practice squad addition

Jimmy Kennedy and Chris Cook only players not practicing

September 6, 2010 at 5:23PM

The Vikings are practicing outside Monday and cornerback Chris Cook and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy are the only two players not taking part.

Cook (knee) is sidelined for several weeks. Kennedy (undislosed injury) has not been on the field since the second preseason game. We should get more information on the nature of Kennedy's injury when the team releases its first injury report later this afternoon.

Also, the Vikings made two moves with their practice squad. Offensive guard Thomas Austin was released and they added offensive tackle Thomas Welch, who played at Vanderbilt.

The three coordinators and Adrian Peterson will have their weekly press conferences after practice. Check back later for updates from those and locker room media access.
