Minnesota humorist Garrison Keillor, in tribute to his brother who died five weeks ago, will host a benefit show in Madison, Wis.
The show is scheduled for May 6 at Overture Hall.
Keillor's brother, Phil, 71, died Feb. 27 after falling and hitting his head while ice skating 12 days earlier at Vilas Park in Madison.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward building a new shelter at Tenney Park.
Supporters of the Madison park noted on their website that Phil Keillor "loved to picnic, play, sail, swim and skate in our Madison lakes and parks."
Also planned is "A Fireside Chat with Garrison Keillor" during a preconcert reception for a limited number of those "keen to make a larger donation," the Tenney Park website said.
In his syndicated newspaper column, Garrison Keillor wrote, "When your brother dies, your childhood fades, there being one less person to remember it with, and you are left disinherited, unarmed, semiliterate, an exile."
