Humorist, radio personality, author -- oh what am I saying; you know who he is. Garrison Keillor will be the keynote speaker at the annual dinner of the Friends of the University of Minnesota Libraries in May.

You don't have to be a friend to attend, but it'll cost you ten bucks more if you're not. (And aren't we all friends of libraries, really, when it comes right down to it?)

Tickets are $56 and $46 and must be reserved by May 3. Purchase them at the Northrop Ticket Office, 612-624-2345, or online at www.tickets.umn.edu.

The May 10 dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., with Keillor's talk at 8 p.m. at the McNamara Alumni Center, 200 S.E. Oak St., Mpls. For more information, check out the Friends' website.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
