Good morning commuters!

Yesterday westbound 694 drivers experienced the pains that came with lane restrictions. Today, eastbound motorists will join them.

The freeway is reduced two lanes in each directions, and the jamups are sure to come. Today, the work zone is concentrated between University Avenue over to Hwy. 252. The ramp to East River Road is closed. By later in the week, it will extend to 35W.

In the south metro, delays are possible on northbound I-35 in Lakeville. That is due to the single lane configuration on I-35E from Crystal Lake Road up to Cedar Avenue.

The overnight road work on eastbound 494 at France Avenue should be out of the way soon. Westbound work at Penn Avenue also should wrap up by 6 a.m.

I'll be watching the roads and rails today letting you know where you will find problems, issues and delays. If you see anything that you feel your fellow commuters would like to know, pass that on to me. Leave a comment here, email drive@startribune.com or tweet @stribdrive.
