Good morning, commuters!

It's a steam bath out there with temperature already in the 80s and high humidity to boot. Be sure to take it easy until the heat subsides. An excessive heat warning is in effect this morning.

So far so good with light levels of traffic and no crashes or incidents to report.

Southeast metro drivers will be dealing with more road work. In addition to the single lane on Hwy. 52/55 through Inver Grove Heights, a popular alternate also has restrictions. Hwy. 61 in Hastings from Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 10 has the right lane is closed due to bridge construction work until August 11.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
