Keeping tabs on Tuesday's morning commute

The frigid conditions are back and with it comes the possibility of black ice especially on ramps, bridge decks and in tunnels.

Good morning, commuters!

The frigid conditions are back and with it comes the possibility of black ice especially on ramps, bridge decks and in tunnels.

This warning from MnDOT: "Another deep freeze in the morning. And that meas potential slick spots on the roads. Slow down, please. Will be a bad day to be in a crash."

After yesterday's light levels of traffic, expect things to be much busier Tuesday as classes at the University of Minnesota resume and most people head back to work.

All area transit providers will be running regular schedules today. So far, none are reporting any delays or route cancellations.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
