Keeping tabs on Thursday's morning commute

Good morning commuters!

We start today's rush hour in good shape, with our only obstacle overnight road work that is still in progress.

Drivers on westbound 494 will find the left lane blocked at Penn Avenue while eastbound drivers will run into lane reductions at France Avenue. That work should wrap up by 6 a.m.

Northbound I-35 has one lane closed at the Burnsville Split and southbound 35W has one lane blocked at County Road 42. That should lift soon.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, leave a comment here, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
