Good morning, commuters!

Brrrr. It's a cold one out there and even slick in some portions of the south metro where a coating of snow fell overnight. Be sure to drive carefully.

We can expect lighter levels of traffic today since it is Veteran's Day and a number of folks are off for the holiday.

In the north metro, the drive to work along westbound 694 should be a bit easier starting today. The big reason is a number of ramps that have been closed are scheduled to open today:

  • The ramp from eastbound I-694 to southbound Snelling/Hamline Avenue.
    • The ramp from northbound Central Avenue (Highway 65) to westbound I-694 and
      • The ramp from westbound I-694 to University Avenue (Highway 47).

In addition, all westbound I-694 lanes from Silver Lake Road to East River Road are open.

I will keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
