Keeping tabs on Monday's morning commute

I-694 and I-35W are back open following weekend closures.

September 17, 2013 at 10:31AM

Good morning, commuters!

For drivers on Hwy. 55, a temporary stoplight has been installed at Boone Avenue/General Mills Blvd. where a deadly crash last week took out the permanent signal. A four-way stop had been controlling traffic.

Good news for northbound I-35W drivers, the freeway from County 42 to Hwy. 13 is back open. The freeway had been shut down over the weekend as MnDOT crews were making repairs to the Hwy. 13 bridge. Look for a lane to be blocked on County 50.

Eastbound 694 from Lexington Avenue to 35W is back open. That portion of the freeway was closed for the weekend for concrete repair.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
