Good morning, commuters!

It's going to be a hot one this week, so keep an eye on your coolant, battery and tires. The heat can do a number on them.

Drivers on southbound Hwy. 169 from County Road 81 to Hwy. 55 will have a much smoother ride now that a series of weekend closures for repaving are behind them. Next weekend, MnDOT will begin work on the northbound lanes.

Look out for a pedestrian walking along I-35 near the Elko/New Market exit. The State Patrol is on the way to pick that person up.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
