Good morning commuters.

Road construction season is definitely upon us as major projects that have started will likely cause big time delays for motorists.

Among the are I-35E from Cedar Avenue to the I-35E/W split in Burnsville and Eagan. Both directions are down to a single lane until late July.

In Maplewood, Hwy. 36 is shut down in both directions from Hwy. 61 to White Bear Avenue. Many drivers will be using alternate routes to prepare for more traffic on roads such as White Bear Avenue, McKnight Road and Century Avenue.

The big project is on I-694 from Hwy. 252 to I-35W. The project was to have started last night, but it appears as if all lanes are open at this hour. But fair warning, it's only a matter of time until lane restrictions are put into place.

I'll be watching the roads and rails this morning giving you reports on where you will find delays and problems on the roads.

If you see anything, send me a tweet @stribdrive, e-mail at drive@startribune or leave a comment here.

Make it a great day.
