Keeping tabs on Friday's morning commute

Another beautiful day on the roads at this early hour with no crashes and light levels of traffic. No crashes either. Let's hope it stays that way all morning (wishful thinking) what with yesterday's wild and wooly finish that included a fatal motorcycle crash in Burnsville.

Good morning, commuters!

Another beautiful day on the roads at this early hour with no crashes and light levels of traffic. No crashes either. Let's hope it stays that way all morning (wishful thinking) what with yesterday's wild and wooly finish that included a fatal motorcycle crash in Burnsville.

One thing to look out for right now is the overnight road work that's still in progress on northbound 35E at Maryland Avenue.

Lots of construction and events-related road closings are on tap for this weekend. I'll preview those around lunch time so be sure to check back.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
