Good morning, commuters!

We start Friday with a crash in the final stages of clearing on northbound I-494 at Stone Road. That's just south of I-394 in Minnetonka. The activity has the left shoulder blocked, but it's impacting traffic.

Hopefully today will be the last day I'll have to be telling you about the maddening drive on northbound I-35 through the work zone in Lakeville. MnDOT is hoping to have that project wrapped up by Monday. Until then, we are stuck with the single lane configuration between County 70 and County 50.

So far, it's not too bad, but you can expect things to cram up as the rush hour rolls along.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
