Keeping tabs on Friday's morning commute

MnDOT crews are wrapping up overnight road work on the 494 strip through Bloomington and all lanes should be open in the next few minutes.

Good morning commuters!

We start today's rush hour in good shape, with our only obstacle overnight road work that is still in progress.

MnDOT crews are wrapping up overnight road work on the 494 strip through Bloomington and all lanes should be open in the next few minutes.

The work on southbound Hwy. 169 at 63rd Avenue should be lifting soon, too.

Those are the only places motorists will encounter any delays at this hour. But that will change as the rush hour rolls on.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, leave a comment here, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
