Keeping tabs of Friday's morning commute

Good morning, commuters!

Road work has been the story of the summer and so it should not surprise us that we have plenty of it to talk about.

Overnight construction has the left lane blocked on westbound 494 at Portland Avenue and eastbound at 35W. That should be gone by 6 a.m.

Overnight work on eastbound 94 from Monticello through Albertville is still in place. That, too, should wrap up by 6 a.m.

There also is overnight work on eastbound 694 from Hwy. 100 to East River Road.

Look for traffic to stack up in places such as eastbound Hwy. 10 through Anoka from Greenhaven Drive to Round Lake Blvd. and on northbound Hwy. 169 across the Bloomington Ferry Bridge.

Currently traffic is light in those spots, but there have been big delays there all week long.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
