Kayak under the moon

Fish Lake Regional Park, 8:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday

Watch for wildlife, and hear entertaining stories. Cost is $20. Equipment provided. Must be 12 years or older. Previous experience recommended. Children 17 years and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult. Reservations required. Call 763-694-7818. (threeriversparks.org)

Mountain bike racing

Elm Creek Park Reserve, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday

Race four 10-mile laps individually or in teams of two or four riders (teams tag off and alternate laps). There are door prizes and awards for participants. Cost is $30 for individuals, or $50 for teams. Registration begins at 8 a.m. or register online. The race start is 9 a.m., using a mass start. Check the Three Rivers Parks website for updates, race changes and weather concerns. The event is sponsored by Maple Grove Cycling and is for ages 16 and older. Helmets are mandatory. Universe in the Park

Afton State Park, 8:30-10 p.m. Saturday

University of Minnesota astronomers will share their telescopes and their knowledge of the night sky. After an indoor talk, head outside to look through telescopes at stars, planets and galaxies. Meet at the interpretive center. (651-231-6968, mndnr.gov)

Planting for pollinators

Interstate State Park, 2-3 p.m. Sunday

Learn about creating habitat for pollinators in this hands-on program. This is a drop-in program that takes about 10 minutes to complete. Meet near the visitor center. (651-465-5711, mndnr.gov)

Pond puddling

Eastman Nature Center, 1-3 p.m. Sunday

Discover what swims, dives and paddles in the pond. Drop in anytime. Children 17 and older must be accompanied by an adult. (763-694-7700)
