After he was forced to exit consecutive practices on Sunday and Tuesday, left tackle Matt Kalil was held out of Wednesday's practice with an apparent leg injury.
Kalil initially hobbled off the practice field under his own power on Sunday, and returned briefly Tuesday before he was forced to shed his shoulder pads and become a spectator. Second-year tackle T.J. Clemmings continued to fill in for Kalil at left tackle.
Head coach Mike Zimmer doesn't say much about injuries, and he had a little fun with the latest inquiry about Kalil — only after saying he wasn't concerned.
"Well, actually I am concerned," Zimmer quipped. "I'm going to go home and cry tonight. Is that a good line?"
The injury to Kalil continued the Vikings' shuffle along the offensive line, where Joe Berger and John Sullivan continue to swap days as the starting center. Also sidelined with Kalil were cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) and defensive tackle Scott Crichton.
Second-year safety Anthony Harris returned to practice Wednesday after nearly two weeks away due to an undisclosed injury.
Looking on track to make his preseason debut Sunday, linebacker Eric Kendricks (hamstring) participated in full for a consecutive practice.
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw at practice for a consecutive day, which is a good sign after he was limited over the weekend. Bridgewater completed 14 of 17 passes in team drills, extending his range from the day before with completions beyond 20 yards and one ball about 40 yards deep that fell incomplete in front of tight end Kyle Rudolph.
