Kahn: Don't call me, don't text me; Sessions/Hollins to Cavs?

Sorry, didn't get a chance to update the blog on Friday because I'm taking some vacation and comped time off.

By now you know that David Kahn got fined $50,000 and the team got fined that amount as well for his comments about Michael Beasley's marijuana use on the Reusse/Mackey show on 1500ESPN.

In the wake of that, Kahn has changed his media policy: No longer are reporters allowed to call or text him directly on his cell phone. From now on, he says all requests will go through the team's media-relations department.

I'm guessing that will mean a considerable delay at times to get his response to trade rumors and other stuff that breaks. Previously, he'd often quickly text back an answer, which I'd quickly throw up here on the blog.

As you all know, he likes to talk, so only time will tell if this new policy truly lasts.

I'll be gone all of August and part of September, so in my absence either Kent Youngblood, who's back on the Wolves and Wild after a few years away to cover Gopher football, or our NBA editor Mark Wollemann will be posting items here on the blog.

The Wolves should officially announce the signing of Nikola Pekovic shortly and could make a relatively minor (trading Ramon Sessions at this point would qualify) move or two.

West is talented. They're already trying to help Beasley and Darko Milicic rebuild their careers. Would you take a chance on doing the same with West or simply bank the salary slot?

West's $4.6 million salary is only guaranteed for $500,000 if he is waived by Aug. 5.

Don't expect them to do something dramatic with all that acquired cap space just yet, and, judging from posts on here, don't get your heart all set on Andre Iguodala. Unless Kahn has changed his mind recently, he thinks Iguodala is overpaid and I don't get any sense from Kahn or Kuirt Rambis that they feel like they need to find a star 2 guard.

I'm betting they give Martell Webster every chance to be that guy because when they talk of players, they speak of wings and post players, not 2s and 3s and they definitely see Webster, Wesley Johnson and Corey Brewer as their main wings.

I'll probably chime in from time as well as get closer to the World Championships -- looks like Kevin Love will be on that U.S. team and you can also follow the progress of prospects such as Ricky Rubio and Nemanja Bjelica in Turkey as well -- and training camp, which is less than two months away now.

UPDATE, 4:35 pm: Just tested the new media policy and got a fairly quick response from Kahn through the media-relations department when I asked about a Sessions to Cleveland deal:
