State Sen. Mike Jungbauer was back at the Capitol on Monday after being struck by a car last week while jogging near the Capitol.

"I don't blame the driver, it could happen to any of us," he said during a brief speech on the Senate floor. "I am blessed to be here and to be feeling good."

The three-term Senator from East Bethel said he plans to work a few half-days before resuming a full schedule. "I still feel a little beat up," he said.

Jungbauer spent a night in a St. Paul hospital and received a minor concussion when he was struck by a car during a morning jog.

Jungbauer thanked legislators and staff for the encouragement and support over the last few days.

"It's not about being Democratic or Republican, everybody here, including staff, is here for you when you or your family need it," he said. "And I so appreciate that."
