Judge Joe in court? Real court, that is

People will sue over anything.

Judge Joe is not a real judge? No? This shakes my faith in the entire television-justice system:

The case is set to be dismissed, AP reports. Remember how it all began? Kindly Judge Wapner, with Rusty the Bailiff? Rusty carried a gun on that show. He had a holster with a pistol. Probably wasn't loaded, but I wondered what would happen if someone went nuts and charged the bench. There'd be nothing between vengeance and Wapner but Rusty.

I prefer Judge Judy - whose bailiff, by the way, isn't "Burt." His name is Byrd. The original name of Judge Judy's show? "Hot Bench." She didn't like it. I would give anything to hear her chew out the people who came up with name. IT MAKES ME SOUND LIKE I'M HAVING MENOPAUSE FLASHES UP THERE. TRY AGAIN.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
