She sings with Mick Jagger's SuperHeavy, has a heavyweight reputation and a Grammy and two Brit Awards to support it. But Joss Stone's career has never really taken off as expected in the States.

Still, the 25-year-old soul siren is doing another small venue U.S. tour, including an Oct. 4 show at the O'Shaughnessy at St. Kate's U in St. Paul. It's part of the Women of Substance Series at the college and Stone's tour to support her "Soul Sessions Vol. 2," featuring covers of the Chi-Lites, Dells and Linda Lewis. Tickets, priced at $52 and $55, will go on sale Friday.

Speaking of heavyweights, rapper/actor Mos Def, now known as Yasiin Bey, will return to the Guthrie on Oct. 1 for a concert. Tickets, priced at $46 and $48, will go on sale Friday.

Coming to the Cedar are slide guitar ace Sonny Landreth on Nov. 14 and Texas song slinger Joe Ely on Oct. 23. Tickets will go on sale Friday.
