Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are on the express train to Splitsville.

Heard has filed for divorce from "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Depp, after just over one year of marriage.

The pair married in February 2015 after meeting on the set of 2011's "The Rum Diary," which was an adaptation of a Hunter S. Thompson book.

Heard filed divorce papers on Monday, with the ever-common "irreconcilable differences" listed as the reason. Heard is seeking spousal support.

Depp had previously been in a longterm relationship with French model/actress Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children. The two announced their split in 2012. He officially began dating Heard the same year and the pair quickly got serious.

The actor was also married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison from 1983 to 1985.

Heard had previously dated female artist and photographer Tasya van Ree, though she has said in the past, "I don't label myself one way or another — I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters."

Spokespeople for Depp and Heard have not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.

The timing is particularly bad for Depp, given recent events in the actor's life; Depp's mother, Betty Sue Palmer, died May 20 following a long illness at age 81.

Depp and Heard recently found themselves at the center of controversy when they illegally brought their two dogs into Australia. The couple subsequently recorded a much-mocked apology video last month.

The many-faced actor is currently promoting his latest project with producer Tim Burton, reprising his role as the Mad Hatter in "Alice Through the Looking Glass," which opens Friday.
