Cathriona White, the on-again-off-again girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey, was found dead Monday after an apparent drug overdose in a residence in Sherman Oaks, California.

“Cathriona White was found deceased in a residence and pronounced at 8:40 p.m. last night in the 1500 block of Briarwood Drive in Sherman Oaks,” Ed Winter, Assistance Chief L.A. Country Coroner’s Office told TheWrap on Tuesday. “It was reported as a possible overdose. Her autopsy is pending. There were some pills found.”

Although the death is believed to be a suicide, an official ruling has not yet been made, according to the Daily Mail. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Carrey, 53, and White, 28, first started dating in 2012 but broke up shortly after. In May, they were seen together, allegedly rekindling their romance.

On Sept. 24, White posted her last tweet, in which she wrote, “Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest.” According to celebrity gossip site TMZ, she allegedly left behind a suicide note in which she mentioned breaking up with Carrey on the same day.

LAPD has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Meanwhile, Carrey has released the following statement:

“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
