Jedd Fisch update

Return to pros remains likely

January 18, 2010 at 11:49PM

Greetings.

Just a quick update on the Jedd Fisch situation. According to the people I'm talking to, people who should know, Fisch is going to take the job of quarterbacks coach in Seattle. The move could be made official as early as Tuesday.

I know, there's not been a lot of movement in this story since the Seattle Times first reported late last week that Fisch was expected to become part of Pete Carroll's new staff with the Seahawks.

Just wanted to let you know that folks close to the Gophers are expecting this situation to be resolved quickly.

The next question, of course, is who will replace Fisch? Brewster said last week that the person coming in would be asked to keep continuity in the offense Fisch installed, right down to the terminology. I'm betting that coach Tim Brewster, expecting this move, has been working very hard to find a replacement. I would expect a replacement to be named sooner rather than later.

That's about it. Have a good night.
