Much of the credit for the Wild's early exit from the Stanley Cup Playoffs belongs to St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen.
His effort described many ways including "otherworldly" held the Wild to just eight goals in five games and one goal in each of the first three games of the first-round series.
Well, Allen's magic might have run out.
He gave up four goals in the Blues' 4-3 Game 1 loss to Nashville in the Western Conference semifinals Wednesday night. He finished the game with 28 saves, but only a .875 save percentage.
The game-winning goal he allowed was tapped through his five-hole as he lunged for the loose puck, but beat to it by Vernon Fiddler.
Allen's lowest save percentage in the series against the Wild was .919. He made 174 saves on 182 shots on goal.
Wild fans jumped on the opportunity to pile it on Allen Wednesday night.
