It looks like this time John David Booty and the Vikings might really be parting ways.
Cut twice this season by the Vikings only to be brought back -- the first time was in the final moves before training camp and the second time was when the Vikings wanted to bring in an offensive lineman for the practice squad -- Booty had a workout today with the Houston Texans, according to the website ProFootballTalk.com.
This came after he was re-signed to the Vikings practice squad recently only to be let go again last week. Perhaps it was at that point Booty realized he should look elsewhere. Booty spent last season as the Vikings' No. 3 quarterback after being a fifth-round pick but this year ended up on the practice squad thanks to the Vikings signing Brett Favre in August. Heck, Favre even took Booty's number.
I guess it's going to be tough to believe the Vikings and Booty are really through until his name plate at Winter Park is brought down and his locker is cleaned out. So far that hasn't happened so who knows.
