Hot off the press release press:

The Minnesota Twins, the City of Minneapolis, the Minnesota Ballpark Authority and Hennepin County today announced the renaming a stretch of 3rd Avenue North in Downtown Minneapolis to Twins Way. Twins Way is located at what was formerly 3rd Avenue North, just south of Target Field between 7th and 12th streets.

"We at the Minnesota Twins are grateful to the Minneapolis City Council for approving Twins Way," said Minnesota Twins president Dave St. Peter. "We hope the new street name adds to the excitement for fans as they come downtown to take part in one of the most exciting urban experiences in the country."

Last week, The Minneapolis City Council approved the renaming to celebrate the Twins' move into Target Field. Today, Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire, Mayor R.T. Rybak, Hennepin County Board Chair Mike Opat, Minnesota Twins President Dave St. Peter and Minnesota Ballpark Authority Chair Steve Cramer unveiled the new Twins Way signage.
