It's official: No opener for Ozzy's show

Neither Slash nor Halford are making the trip, leaving Ozzy holding an "Evening With" bag.

Well, this officially bites harder than Ozzy on bat heads: Live Nation is going ahead and calling Wednesday night's makeup date by Ozzy Osbourne at Target Center an "Evening With" concert, which means there will not be an opening act. That's a far cry from having Rob Halford or Slash on the bill. Not to mention, there are about 400 local metal bands that would line up at a moment's notice for little to no pay.

Halford was originally booked to play the show before it was postponed last month, but the Judas Priest frontman apparently doesn't think it worth it traveling to the Midwest in January just for two makeup dates. Slash was initially named by Ozzy reps as part of the makeup lineup, but he apparently is too busy to join the tour a few days before it gets back on its previously scheduled track Sunday in Omaha.

The big question now is: Will Ozzy actually play a longer show Wednesday to make up for this gaping hole, as is usually true of "Evening With" concerts? Or, more to the point, is he physically capable of doing so? Target Center reps did not know.
