Kurt Rambis was second-guessing himself after Friday night's 116-115 loss at Indiana that ended the Wolves' two-game road winning streak.

Join the club, huh?

The Wolves led 32-27 after three quarters, then the Pacers went on a 8-1 run to start the fourth quarter.

And they were only getting started.

By the time it was over, Dahntay Jones -- that's right, Dahntay Jones -- outscored the Wolves all by himself, 19-15.

Add the other Pacers and it was a 33-15 fourth quarter, after which Rambis put the blame on himself for not doing more in to stop Jones.

Until two weeks ago, Jones was buried on the Pacers' bench because coach Jim O'Brien determined that he didn't shoot well enough to stretch the defense.

Then O'Brien was fired, assistant Frank Vogel was promoted and Jones was freed.

On Friday, he did a reasonable Reggie Miller impersonation, scoring at will, then taunting the Wolves' bench with his facial expressions after yet another made shot.

Rambis didn't get into specifics about what he did or didn't do in the fourth quarter.

But he did have two of the team's lottery picks -- Wes Johnson and Corey Brewer -- on the bench for much of the fourth quarter while he went with late first-rounders Wayne Ellington and Lazar Hayward.

The Pacers turned a seven-point deficit into a four-point lead by the time Rambis substituted Brewer back into the game for Hayward with 3:22 left.

In the Wolves' locker room afterward, there seemed to be a mixture of disbelief and disgust that Dahntay Jones had beaten them almost all by himself.

A few other things from Friday night:

* Jonny Flynn didn't play after the midway point of the third quarter. You might have guessed it was because he more turnovers (5) than points (4) or assists by then. But Rambis and Flynn both said afterward that Flynn did something to his groin after he fell in the first half and it limited him enough after halftime that he told Rambis to play Sebastian Telfair the rest of the way.

Telfair did, almost. Until he fouled out in the final minute.

Flynn said the groin issue is absolutely separate from that surgically repaired hip injury. He said his groin has been tight ever since he returned from the hip surgery, and said he considered it a normal byproduct of such a surgery. We'll see if it keeps him out Saturday night at home against Philadelphia.

If Luke Ridnour doesn't come back ready to play after two weeks away to be with his family, that'd leave the Wolves with Telfair as their only healthy point guard.

* Don't look now, but Cleveland -- losers of 26 straight until Friday's overtime victory over the Clippers -- is only four victories behind the Wolves. The Cavs have nine, the Wolves 13.

That's all from Indianapolis tonight (Friday night).

Kent, fresh off the Wild's big shootout victory in St. Louis Friday, has got Saturday's game against the 76ers and I'll be back for that big Valentine Night's game against Portland.
