A good friend of mine, Matt Kucharski, always has his thinking cap on. Earlier this year, he fed me the blog idea of Comfort Food and Pheasants, and he recently dropped me an email suggestion to blog about pet insurance for bird dogs.

You see, Matt's got two fantastic bird dogs with a penchant for high-priced injuries. In the last two years, Matt's black Lab "Lucy" and German shorthaired pointer "Bella," have (collectively) eaten a yoga ball, gotten into a scrap at a dog park, taken a sharp stick in the abdomen, tore off a foot pad and racked up a hefty vet bill. Half way through those ordeals, Matt added a $12 per month pet insurance plan. Needless to say, it has paid for itself over and over and over…

With Matt's vet bills in mind; I'm in the market for a pet insurance provider.

So, I have two questions for you today:

A) Do you have pet insurance on your bird dog?

B) If Pheasants Forever offered a pet insurance program, would you be interested in buying a plan for your bird dog through our organization?

The Pointer is written by Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever's Vice President of Marketing.
