Some food for thought.
Brett Favre's contract calls for him to make $13 million this year.
Statistically, he's the top QB in NFL history ...
But consider, Sam Bradford just signed with the St. Louis Rams after they took him No. 1 overall in this year's draft. Bradford's six-year deal is worth $78 million -- with the potential to reach $86 million -- and calls for $50 million guaranteed.
Last year's No. 1 pick, quarterback Matthew Stafford, got a six-year, $72 million deal from the Lions with $41.7 guaranteed.
So Bradford is making an average of $13 million and Stafford an average of $12 million, both unproven in the NFL.
Favre might feel a little underpaid.
The Colts have vowed to keep Peyton Manning and make him the top-paid QB. Manning's contract (seven years, $99.2 million) will end after the 2010 season.
