A husband and wife crashed on a motorcycle late at night on the Iron Range, leaving the man dead and the woman hospitalized, authorities said.
Killed in the crash about 2:50 a.m. Saturday on the southern edge of Hibbing was the motorcycle's operator, Casey M. Lantz, 31, of Chisholm, Minn. Hospitalized in Hibbing with noncritical injuries was Jessica C. Lantz, 32, the State Patrol said.
Neither was wearing a helmet, the patrol added.
The motorcycle was traveling east on Hwy. 169, took the exit ramp to northbound Hwy. 73 and lost control, according to the patrol.
