PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a multiple-alarm fire at a Plymouth apartment building that displaced residents of at least 20 units.
Fire departments from as far away as Eden Prairie and Bloomington were called to help fight the fire that heavily damaged the 62-unit building in the Vicksburg Village complex early Friday. It was reported around 4 a.m. and was largely contained by about 7:30 a.m.
There were no serious injuries, though a few residents were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Plymouth Fire Chief Richard Kline says the first started on a third floor deck.
He says the building did not have a sprinkler system but met city code because it was built before sprinklers were required.
The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.
