Car club roundup on its way

Get your group listed in this year's Car Club Roundup, which will run later this year in the Star Tribune Cars section. To be included in this annual car club compilation - which will list area clubs in Auto Scene columns on Fridays in December and January - we need to hear from you no later than Nov. 11. Listings will be short, so your e-mail needs to only include the following:

Club name

Club's vehicle focus (if it's not obvious from the club name)

Contact information: phone number, e-mail address, website address (postal address if that's the only way to contact your club)

Send your information to: jamesbohen@yahoo.com.

All-wheel Swedes

Auto Week reports that Saab is expanding its all-wheel-drive technology-dubbed XWD, for "cross-wheel drive"-to the 9-3 2.0T sedan and wagon models and a new 2.0T sport model. Saab, General Motors' Swedish brand, says that XWD increases power to the rear wheels at launch and engages an electronic limited-slip differential to shift rear axle power from side to side. XWD was launched in the 2008 model year in V-6 versions of the 9-3 Aero, and the sedan and wagon versions of the limited-run Turbo X.

Check out midsize Dodge Journey

The 2009 version of the Journey, Dodge's midsize crossover, is now available. As Motor Matters reports, options and flexibility are the keys to the Journey, which is bigger than a station wagon and just a little bit smaller than a sport utility vehicle. The Journey is available with either a four-cylinder or V-6 engine. Base price for the Journey is just over $27,000. Read more about this vehicle in Saturday's Star Tribune Cars section.
