VW's Scirocco in U.S.?
This is one of those yes-no-maybe propositions. This column previously reported at various times that Volkswagen's latest version of its Scirocco would be and then would not be available in North America. Now, the answer is - maybe. As Auto Week recently reported, prodding from enthusiasts and the Scirocco's popularity so far in Europe - it returned there in August after 16 years - have VW executives rethinking their decision about not selling the model in this country.
Alfa, maybe, too
Auto Week recently reported that the global financial crisis means that Alfa Romeo's often-delayed return to the United States will be postponed again. Alfa had planned to introduce the 8C Competizione this past summer, but pushed it back to 2010. Now Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne says that Alfa's return won't come until 2011.
