• Annual salary range is about $47,000 to $62,000, plus seasonal overtime.

• Benefits include life, health, dental and workers' compensation insurance; an optional deferred compensation savings plan; and a retirement plan. There are also paid holidays, vacation days and sick leave.

• Conservation officers are provided take-home patrol vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles and boats, as well as laptop computers, Internet service, body armor, firearms and other safety equipment.

• Conservation officers work out of their homes.
