A cold front is set to sweep across the Northeast Saturday night into Sundaywith dramatically less impact than when it sparked an outbreak of damagingthunderstorms over the central Plains on Friday. Many residents of the Northeast will not even notice the front's passage. Sincemoisture from the Atlantic Ocean will not be present, showers accompanying thefront Saturday night will fail to spread east of the Ohio Valley and easternGreat Lakes.

Cooler air will filter into the region in the front's wake, but heavier jacketscan be left in the closet. The position of the jet stream will keep chilly airbottled up in Canada, allowing Sunday's temperatures across the Northeast tostill be pleasant for this time of year.

Temperatures across the Interstate 95 corridor on Sunday will actually rise toor above Saturday's highs. Winds circulating around the front will prevent coolair from flowing in from the ocean, which happened on Saturday. That ocean aircaused parts of the Interstate 95 corridor to experience a cloudy and foggySaturday morning, and prevented the region from warming as much as theNortheast's interior.
