Injured woman found in St. Cloud street dies

September 27, 2012 at 1:29AM

A woman found injured in the street down the block from her St. Cloud home died Wednesday, police said.

The events leading up to the death of Linette Brown, 47, remain unknown to police, said Assistant Chief Susan Stawarski.

Results of an autopsy are pending, and police are urging the people who stopped at the scene Sunday night in the 1200 block of E. St. Germain Street and spoke with officers to contact police at 1-320-251-1200.

Officers were called to St. Germain Street about 9:15 p.m. Sunday and saw Brown in the street with what police termed "life-threatening injuries," declining to elaborate. She was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital, where she has died.

Stawarski said "it's really hard to answer right now," what happened to Brown. "We're not counting anything out."

The assistant chief said she anticipates the autopsy "should tell us a lot."

She also is counting on witnesses to contact police, given that St. Germain is "a really busy street and it wasn't like it was really late at night."
