A 30-year-old Indiana man was killed in a rear-end crash involving a semitrailer truck on Interstate 94 near Barnesville, Minn., on Sunday morning.

David T. Hinkle, of Anderson, Ind., was in the front passenger seat of a Saturn headed west on I-94 in Clay County. Around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the sedan's driver rear-ended a large semi ahead of them.

Hinkle died at the scene, according to the State Patrol. The driver and a back-seat passenger, also of Anderson, were taken to Sanford Moorhead Clinic with non-life-threatening and serious injuries, respectively.

None of the three occupants was wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol.

The Ramsey County medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy on Hinkle to determine his cause of death.

Semi driver R.J. McGregor III, 33, Massena, N.Y., was not injured.

His passenger, Anthony Webster-Bodway, 41, of Oneida, Wis., was also unhurt.

Both men were wearing their seat belts, and neither was hospitalized.

The State Patrol has determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
