Brave New Workshop

"Hindsight Is 2020," the latest offering from the Twin Cities' premier sketch troupe, is being billed as a retrospective from the past decade, but the material in this brisk collection feels fresh, especially with the four-person cast updating old bits with references to the coronavirus and at least one "OK, boomer." Republicans, particularly Vice President Mike Pence, take a beating, but routines about the downside of Olive Garden's promise of never-ending breadsticks and a musical parody of "West Side Story" will please spectators on both sides of the political fence. Lauren Anderson's "paper pirate," who waxes nostalgic about the days of toilet paper while sporting an upside-down eyepatch, may be recycled, but her performance is timeless. (Runs through May 23; Brave New Workshop Theatre, 824 S. Hennepin Av., Mpls.; $26-$49. bravenewworkshop.com.)

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
