This picture was taken in June 2018 on the prairie in south central South Dakota. We were hunting and obviously quit when this brewed up quickly. There were storm chaser vehicles in the area from different Midwestern universities as we drove back to our motel. Don Nickel Kiester, MN
Don Nickel of Kiester, Minn., took this picture last summer on the prairie in south central South Dakota. “We were hunting and obviously quit when this brewed up quickly,” he said, noting that they passed several storm chasers in the area as they drove back to their motel. One way to identify a true Minnesotan: When the skies start to look ominous, we don't run for cover, we run outside to get a better look. These readers also grabbed their cameras, too. Don't let the clouds rain on your parade; just (safely) enjoy the view.

Early summer thunderstorm pulling into downtown Minneapolis, hanging low over the Nic on Fifth at 4pm June 4, 2019. Looking east from 16th floor on Nicollet avenue. Not much rotation – yet. Nathaniel (“Nat”) Longley

Clockwise, from left: Nat Longley of Buhl, Minn. , captured a high-level view of an early summer thunderstorm pulling into downtown Minneapolis. Stephanie Yant of Andover took this photo of an impressive group of mammatus clouds that formed on a muggy day. The formation lasted only a few minutes. A spring cloudburst in downtown St. Peter, Minn., viewed through a windshield, painted the perfect picture for Juris Ozols of Apple Valley. (The Minnesota Star Tribune)
This is a photo I took of some impressive mammutus clouds that formed overhead our deck during a particularly muggy day. Though they appear threatening, these types of clouds are not usually considered to be followed by dangerous weather. The formation lasted only a few minutes. yant_mammutus-clouds.jpg Thank you for your consideration! Stephanie Yant

This is a photo taken through the windshield of my car stopped at an intersection of Highway 169 southbound during the cloudburst in St. Peter, Minnesota, on the morning of April 17. Taken with iPhone X, unaltered non-photoshopped image. Juris Ozols

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
