It's finally that time of year when the forecast calls for precipitation, and you're almost certain it will come in the form of rain, not snow. Since spring showers are near the top of our list of favorite things, we asked readers to send us their photos of April showers (we really don't care that some were taken in June) and were treated to these stunners. And you know what follows April showers: May flowers. So dig out your pictures of early bloomers and send them our way. (And they don't even have to be taken in May.)

Upcoming topics: Play ball (deadline April 18); proms through the years (April 18); I love Mom (May 1); May flowers (May 8). Send high-res photos to infocus@startribune.com. Don't forget to include your name, address and a short description of the photo.

Ed Backstrom of Minneapolis was in Hanoi last April taking part in a photography workshop. "In an early morning light rain we went to a lake near the old section of Hanoi where many locals would work out. That day the owner of the umbrella put his paper, jacket and hat under it to protect them from the rain while he worked out." [focus040917

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
