While everyone's reflecting on the highlights of 2019, we couldn't resist doing the same. Here's a handful of our favorite reader photos from the year. Thanks to everyone who made our Sundays a bit more picturesque.

Kathryn Koutsky spent New Year's Day at Minnehaha Falls, and the skies helped her usher in the new year.

This photo was taken at a quiet beach in California along Highway 1. My mother looks towards the ocean; a solitary moment where time stood still. Happy Mother’s Day, mom. Claudia Sinclair

I took this photo at St. Paul’s Como park in the misty early morning of September 26, 2009. The park was host to the Walk for Thought, an annual fundraiser for the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. That year the event honored and celebrated Minnesota’s veterans, as traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant health issue which affects service members and veterans during times of both peace and war. TBI has been recognized as the “signature injury” of the wars in Iraq
For Memorial Day, Terri Traudt of Minneapolis offered this photo from St. Paul’s Como Park. (The Minnesota Star Tribune)
This "volunteer" sunflower--one that came up without our planting it--held court next to our zinnia bed. The rumpled look of its petals opening reminds me of a sleeper throwing back bedclothes.

This picture of my grand daughters, Alison and Madison Bliss, were 8 when it was taken late Summer of 2016 as they walked down the street in front of their home in Edina. Behind the camera is their neighbor and bff Siri Larson. Siri, who was 11 at the time, had just been given her first phone and was practicing with the camera. This is the first photo she took! I smile everytime I look at it. It captures perfectly the love these girls have for each other. They are as different as night and day b
