Ikea's Swedish Smorgasbord tickets going fast

A smorgasbord for only $10?

December 6, 2010 at 10:28PM

Julbord, the Swedish Smorgasbord, happens at Ikea on Friday, Dec. 10 starting at 5:30. It's only $10 for beaucoup amounts of food, including herring!, gravad lax, smoked salmon, poached salmon, hard-boiled eggs with shrimp, boiled potatoes with dill, crispbread, cucumber salad, beet salad, meatballs and lingonberries, rice pudding, ham, cheeses, liverwurst, sausage and assorted desserts.

Tickets are required and can be purchased in advance in the store only. Most have already been sold. One rep said that 10-15 tickets will be held back on the day of the event but go early. Kids 12 and under eat for $2.49.

Swedes and I suspect, a few bargain hunters, come from the hinterlands for this. It's become a tradition for many. Check it out. Njuta (enjoy).
