even for the infrequent shopper.

Here are some of the perks:

+Discounts on nearly 50 furniture, accessory and food items through Oct. 31. Discounted items change on the first of every month. Items on sale this month include the Hemnes coffee table ($10 off), the Molger storage stool ($3 off), the Alang floor lamp ($5 off) and the Rondo 18-piece dinnerware set ($7 off).

+ Free coffee or tea at each visit in the restaurant.

+ Thirty extra minutes for the kids in Smaland (capacity dependent)

+ A personal web portal with shopping list

+ A 90 day price guarantee instead of 14 days in case a prior purchase gets discounted.

+ A chance to win an Ikea gift card every time you scan your Family card at the kiosk. (Purchase not required.)

After signing up, your card will be available for immediate pickup at the store. (Ikea saves onpostage by having you pick it up.)

The Family card is named for the Ikea family of customers, said Ikea spokeswoman Brooke Nelson.
