Shannah Henderson, a University of Minnesota PR major from Lakeville, is just 49 people away from WINNING that Charlie Sheen social media internship.
Once among the reportedly 82,000 who applied, Henderson's now one of just 50 still in the running to become an intern for the troubled, promiscuous, possibly drug-using former, and for all we know future, star of CBS' "Two and a Half Men."
"Things look very promising right now," Henderson told me Wednesday. She based that on the fact that "The guy who's in charge of the internship [search] is re-tweeting what I say. That's pretty good. That's a big deal."
The application process required contestants to craft something Twitter-worthy to illustrate why they should be considered for the internship. "I tweeted something pretty interesting," said Henderson, who needs to work on that self-esteem: "I will keep the Sheeniacs salivating for more day-to-day controversy."
She coins words that you can almost hear rolling off the tongue of Charlie Sheen, the Quote Machine.
Wednesday's new word: Obsheenity. Definition: "An obscene or indecent act that everyone else wishes they were doing."
It's easy to see what Sheen's people like about this 2008 Lakeville South grad. But what does she see in him?
"I just find him so influential. Just the fact that he doesn't let people tell him what to do. He's the most high-profile person right now in America. Plus he's himself," said Henderson, whose video application is at www.startribune.com/a280.
